Tamar Moshkovitz
Tutor, Visual Effects, Digital Arts & Animation
Recruited to teach some seriously cool stuff to our Visual Effects students – namely, character design – Tamar Moshkovitz is a fresh addition to our film teaching team. She says the most inspiring part of her role is “watching the students creating beautiful, unique and smart projects.”
Originally from Tel Aviv, Tamar has a rich professional background as a freelance illustrator, animator, and a tutor in art and film schools. She’s worked for a huge variety of clients – including TV channels, web companies, post-production studios, magazines, book publishers, and fashion and toy designers. “Sometimes I even find time for my own projects and art exhibitions,” she jokes.
Tamar’s personality is as vibrant as her witty artwork. When she’s not at Catalyst, you’ll find her drawing cats in her studio or experimenting with recipes from her vintage cookbook collection. She is most excited when she finds unexpected treasures while strolling through the city. “It could be a weird building I’ve never noticed, it could be a book about gelatine desserts,” she remarks. “So many possibilities!” Tamar’s advice to fellow serendipity seekers: always carry a sketchbook and a pen.
