Dee Cunning

Blog and social media storyteller

Consider these words a glitch in the matrix. Because, although our blog and social media storyteller specialises in writing bios, she is rarely tasked with writing her own (hello). Dee’s passions for writing and electronic music collided when she joined the Catalyst team in 2018. The Brit feels privileged to be a voice of Catalyst, chronicling the meteoric rise of our community’s creative minds.

Dee has worked as a freelance writer for several years. Her Vice articles on badass women in history have gained the most recognition. However, she has worked on a variety of projects, including branded content and documentary screenwriting. Dee also loves to capture the souls of her fellow creatives in impactful bios and about texts and is currently writing a novel inspired by the transformational journeys of herself and her friends.

Few things excite Dee more than wordplay. So when she’s not weaving words like wicker, she’s scrapbooking eloquent quotes and ridiculous puns and phrases. You’ll often find Dee making or dancing to sinister dark techno and mystical downtempo mixes, cooking curries, walking the length and breadth of Berlin with a beer in hand, or nerding out on psychedelic culture. Her favourite piece of life advice, courtesy of the late Ram Dass: “Treat everyone you meet like God in drag.”
