The Catalyst community is a creative symphony, composed of the diverse notes of our international creatives. Who better to help conduct that symphony than a man who used to lead a Chinese orchestra?! Andrew joined us in 2021 to handle all things academic administration.
Andrew is originally from the US but considers Taipei his home. “When I’m not at Catalyst, you can find me silently crying at the back of a German language class,” he laughs. His favourite piece of music is the Chinese orchestra piece 瑤族舞曲 (YouTube it!). Andrew counts tuning the 108-stringed yangqin (hammered dulcimer) and backstage emergency instrument repairs among his special talents, though his skills don’t end with music. He loves to cook and his greatest ambition in life is to publish a dystopian sci-fi novel.
