Embody your fullest self and unlock your potential on stage and screen. Our undergraduate acting programme is contemporary, highly practical, project-based and designed to prepare you for a career as a versatile actor in today’s ever-changing media and performance landscape. You’ll gain the skills, experience and confidence to tackle a huge variety of acting roles in a vast range of formats and media, as well as the necessary self-sufficiency and proactivity to secure opportunities in the industry. 

Whether in rehearsal, on set or in practical workshops, you’ll be guided through your acting training by industry-acclaimed practising professionals. You will also have the opportunity to work in collaboration with our film, music and visual effects students and star in a range of productions.

You can study this programme either as a full three-year BA degree or the first year only as a one-year HE Certificate.

As part of our specialist acting school, you'll benefit from a range of collaboration opportunities, not only with your fellow acting students but also with students in our Film & Visual Media and Music & Sound schools.

You'll get challenges with demanding deadlines and engage in working methodologies that resemble the usual everyday rough and tumble of industry life. At the same time, this 'real world' experience comes with an essential safety net – a chance to fail gloriously with no impact on your reputation, your income or your pride and then to get back into the rehearsal room and try again!

Learn the fundamentals of performing for camera. Discover, develop and hone your fledgling acting skills through practical, confidence-boosting learning experiences facilitated by expert tutors and industry professionals.

This high-energy short course is designed for beginners and budding actors eager to play and experiment with their own bodies and their acting abilities. Leave your history books and written essays behind and get ready for four weeks in front of the camera. This is a contemporary acting course made for the increasingly ubiquitous screen. 

Walk away with new expectations of your capabilities and videos of the work you've done to share with others. By the end of the course, you’ll have the basic skills, knowledge and confidence that you need to audition and play a role on camera. 

From getting to grips with how to analyse, break down and work with a script to honing in on a variety of camera acting techniques. From delving into techniques to portray a character to presenting and filming a dialogue scene. You will come out of the four weeks with the fuel to forward your creative journey.

Screen Acting – Short Course

Mille hails from Denmark but has found her home in the vibrant city of Berlin, Germany. She initially joined Catalyst in the summer of 2021, dedicating herself to teaching on the Acting programme. After a brief hiatus in Paris, she returned to Catalyst in the summer of 2023, eager to continue her role.

Before joining Catalyst, Mille honed her skills as an actor – a career she has continued to pursue along side teaching. At Catalyst, she finds immense joy in fostering artistic growth, helping students realise their full potential in the world of acting.

When Mille isn't at Catalyst, she's likely exploring various creative endeavours related to acting. Her enthusiasm for life is evident in her love for sunshine and happiness, particularly when she witnesses others succeeding and thriving.

Mille's life philosophy is centred on community and interconnectedness. She believes that life isn't just about individual achievements but about being part of a greater whole.
